Teen Theme Thursday

Every Thursday I will share writings from my teen years. I will try to only embarass myself, which you will see isn't difficult. If you have anything to share, scan it and email it to me. You can be a ghost blogger. Wouldn't that be fun?

If you click on the writing/picture, you can open it in a different window and view the writing as clear as day.

Christmas T-shirts for 2010

I made the t-shirts for the girls for next year. Yes, that's right, next year. I got so busy that I forgot to sew some cute shirts for the girls this year. While the idea was fresh in my mind, I whipped these up for next year. I know that the shirts at Target are cute and cheap, but who wants to look like everyone else? These are originals for original girls.

Happy New Year!

It is a new year and I have new projects! Imagine that!?

Recently, I had the pleasure of cleaning out my stuff from my parents' attic. No worries, they are perfectly healthy but none of us want to clean it out at a later date.

My mother is a clean fanatic. However, she never threw out my papers, diaries, drawings, etc. She put them in a box- actually boxes, and up in the attic they went. I was so surprised to find all my creative writing, cards and diaries. I kept many diaries. Not surprising, I mainly wrote when I was troubled. It is a stroll through my teenage angst and emotions.

Why do you care about this? Get excited- I am going to share some of my entries with you. They are so horrible that it is humorous. If I wrote about you, I will white out your last name. Ah-relief for those that dumped me as a friend for a boy! Haahaa!

Obviously, I will still post pictures of my sewing projects. I completed many over Christmas that you all must see. You might be inspired!

Good Recipe!

I tried this recipe from one of the numerous blogs that I read. I have no idea which one, but if I remember, I will share it with you. I had the ingredients on hand. Nina likes mushrooms now.

I cut the butter in half and used some olive oil. I used a couple of shallots but I didn't have enough so I added some minced onion. I used all the fresh mushrooms that I had- so more than a cup. I love mushrooms.

CHICKEN GEORGIA

4 tablespoons butter
4 skinless boneless chicken breast halves
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
2 tablespoons minced shallots
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 ounces grated mozzarella cheese

Melt butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms and shallots and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook 10 minutes. Add chicken and cook 10 minutes on each side, or until tender. Transfer chicken to platter and sprinkle with grated cheese. Top with mushroom mixture. Cook and let stand 5 minutes or until cheese melts.

Let me know what you think. Do you have a yummy recipe to share? I will feature you on my blog (or not- just your recipe).

Yes, Another Refashion

This was a tank top that I added a skirt to the bottom. I pleated it instead of the normal ruffle that I have been doing. I think the pleats go with the style of the garment.
I love the tank top but as a dress, it is even better! Thankfully, she likes it.

I sewed this lovely tote for....MYSELF! I needed a tote and some GREAT friend of mine gave me this precious fabric. I even added an "A" for Amy- that's me!
