Hair Clips

My newest endeavor...hair clips. I enjoy making them! No, really, I do. I have more that I will show you but here is one set. My next goal is to come up with a name to call my creations-not the hair clips but everything I make- like Giggle, Giggle, Quack Creations, or something of the sort. I just an at a lost of what to name it. I am going to have Lee's step daughter create a logo for me. She is very artistic- and young- thus hip(like I am trying to be). Any suggestions for a name? I would really appreciate your help! My beautiful model!

Doll Clothes for Nina's Birthday

After popular demand, I am back updating my blog! I know that you have missed my exciting projects. I have been busy and I think I should share! Nina turned 4 years old. She wanted doll clothes for her baby. The baby used to be my baby doll -so the doll is very old. I won't share how old because I look youthful and I wouldn't want you to guess my age! The doll is tiny- 8 1/2 inches tall. That made it challenging to sew for her. I managed with the resources from the internet. Here is a sampling of my efforts: Cherries Jubilee Dress

I wanted to make sure to get pictures of some of these clothes so that when Nina is a nasty teenager- I can show her how good I was to her! When Nina is a mother- I will again remind her how good I was to her! Heeeheeehee!

School is almost over....

I can't believe that we have finished one year of school. I love school-it is great for all of us! heeeheehee The above picture was taken in Nina's classroom. Her class gave a special mother's day party for all the moms. I love her school and her teacher. I will be sad when she moves to another teacher. She is so loved by Mrs. Stephens. Isn't that what it is all about when you are 3?!

Books

I love books. I know that many people feel the same about books like my mom and Jenny Dey. I love to go to Borders, look at wonderful books, write down the titles and check them out at the library.

Right now I have on loan from the library:
I get cook books all the time. The pictures inspire me to try new recipes. I need inspiration for cooking. I have to make it fun for myself or I will dread it. I like to think that I am getting better by all the practice that I get. I know that it is good for my family's health and our finances.
I also check out best sellers all the time. Sometimes I read them. Sometimes, I start them and know that I will never finish them so I return them. I can do that.
If only I had another book like The Glass Castle! That book was great and I enjoyed reading it so much.

I get giddy about the library. It still amazes me that I can check the books out for FREE! I always feel like I know a secret that not everyone knows about. Why doesn't everyone go to the library?
Now I am starting to feel like a real blogger- ranting and raving. Do you want to know my opinion on politics? I don't think so and I am not going to share them. So there! heehee

Thai Chicken and Rice

Alanna shared this recipe with me. I made it last night. It is easy and yummy. It has a distinct taste which makes it especially tasty. It is from Parents magazine. Give it a try.
